Sarah & Andrew
Here at B&G we\’re suckers for an international wedding. Maybe it\’s because we\’ve both had international weddings of our own, who knows? What we do know is that we love the way different nationalities and different cultures can come together and create a truly unique, exciting experience every time.
Sarah and Andrew are exactly the kind of couple that we get really excited about. Irish Sarah met Australian Andrew in Auckland, New Zealand way back in 2011 and now, almost 5 years later, we’ve filmed them tying the knot in Sarah\’s home town of Killarney, half a world away from where they first met.
The couple made sure both countries were well represented with Andrew sporting the Australian flag on one cufflink and the Irish tricolour on the other, as well as a sprig of eucalyptus in his button hole. Sarah did her part too, decking her bridesmaids out in dresses bought on a trip to Sydney earlier in the year and, inevitably, stealing the show in her fabulous, London-made Sanyukta Shrestha dress.
The ceremony was held at St Mary\’s Cathedral in Killarney and was followed by a reception at the fantastic Dromquinna Manor. The food was top notch and the drink was flowing, whether the traditional Irish Guinness or the Aussie VB beer imported for the occasion, and the wedding band Harlequins kept the packed dancefloor going well into the early hours.
The day after the wedding was designated as an official recovery day which, apparently, is a genuine Australian tradition, although we remain unconvinced. One thing we are sure of is that the happy couple and all their guests were glad of a well-earned rest!
